Today, the active racing fleet comprises 20 boats: while crews are fiercely competitive on the water they are noticeably more relaxed and sociable in the bar. BOD's have their own racing programme, sailing sometimes under the Colne Yacht Club burgee and sometimes under Brightlingsea Sailing Club rules. They also have their own social programme, including an annual BBQ and Final Fling lunch.
