Our RYA approved Sailing School offers practical courses for keelboat sailing and powerboat training in Brightlingsea, Essex on the River Colne, close to Colchester. We have four Hunter Sonata 23ft cruiser/racer sailing yachts and three RIBS (rigid inflatable boats) for the powerboat courses.

Allied to the Centre are the Sonata activity groups: Women on the Water, Blokes on Boats, and Sunday Sonata Sailing where members can consolidate and enjoy their skills. All groups operate the same safety and training protocols coordinated from the Training Centre. Skills for RYA qualifications can be identified and practised.

Our Chief Instructor Jane Long has recently been awarded the RYA Inspirational Instructor Award and along with her team of RYA qualified instructors, enjoys welcoming new sailors to the club.
