Sailing Programme, Sailing Instructions, Race Entry Form, Course Card, Notice Of Race, and Protest Form
The Sailing Committee have put together a full year of racing, including the very popular Pursuit Races which are mostly held on Friday evenings. The Cock of the River series on Saturdays is aimed at all classes of cruiser or keel boat and is suitable for slower boats who do one lap while faster boats do two laps. The more serious seasonal series use slightly longer courses in the Colne and Blackwater estuary. Sonata class boats sail on Wednesday evenings. Brightlingsea One Design boats have their own series which is shared with Brightlingsea Sailing Club. A new series of races for the Foxer dinghy fleet will be held this season, details will be published directly to Foxer sailors.
Due to the continuing Covid restrictions we have replaced the first 6 events listed in the Program with the “Early Bird” series. These races will start at the times advertised in the Sailing Programme but will not count towards the main series because many boats cannot be launched due to restrictions delaying preparation and crews will be restricted to a maximum of 6 people from up to 2 households. All 6 'Early Bird' races during April are white sail. Four of the six races to count (two discards).
To join the cruiser and keel boat races please download and read the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, then complete a CYC Entry Form before your first race. Forms can best be returned by scanning them (easy with a smart phone) and emailing directly to Colne Yacht Club.
