Why do I need a proposer and a seconder?

We're a members' club so we need to know a bit about you. If you know a CYC member, they can propose you. If you don't know anyone, please call the office (01206 302594). They'll arrange for a flag officer to meet you, get to know a bit about you, then stand as your proposer. (We tend to meet in the Club bar, so a complimentary drink forms part of the meeting!)

What happens next?

Once we've received your application, it is displayed on the Club noticeboard. At the next General Committee meeting, your application will be considered and confirmed. Our administrator will then invoice you and send your membership card.

How do I know what's going on?

Along with your membership card, you'll receive the new members' pack which tells you where to find the Club's facilities (e.g. the winter storage boatyard); what the sailing programme is for the year; and which social events have been planned. There will also be all the contact details so that you can phone or email our friendly staff.

All members receive regular update on what's happening, and event specific emails to make sure you don't miss any important dates.
